First in Last Out

"When we started with the wetsuits they laughed at us", but they saw that the first person in with a wetsuit was the last person out of the water!
     -- Jack O'Neill

Jack O'Neill is often called the inventor of the modern wetsuit. The man who designed the surfers' second skin so that they could stay in cold waters for hours. This quote, which appears on one of the featured images in the "Surfing - The Cult of Cool" exhibit in Belgium's seashore city Knokke, captures Jack's spirit and embodies his belief that the three most important things in life are surf, surf and surf.
